Local drivers run within a 300-mile radius of our terminal, which is located in Drums, PA; near the intersection of I-80 & I-81. Local drivers do some Long Island, New York driving. We tell you this upfront, since we certainly understand that there are those drivers who will not drive in NYC. Local drivers may be home every day, however, they do usually work a 14-hour workday.
Local drivers are paid $.40/mile for all dispatched miles. Mileages are figured out using PC MILER PRACTICAL program. The MILEAGE INCENTIVE bonus is paid weekly for the miles you run. It is based on the following schedule: if you run between 2,700 & 2,999 miles you will get an extra $.01/mile added to your base; if you run over 3,000 miles you will receive an extra $.02/mile.
Other bonuses include a SAFETY BONUS paid quarterly. Local drivers can receive $150.00 each quarter provided they are here the full quarter; have no preventable accidents or incidents, no work comp claims, and no shop write-ups. There is also a RECRUITING BONUS in place. For any driver you refer who comes to work at Martini Inc. you will receive 1 cent for all the miles they run for a year, plus $750.00 paid @ $125/month for each month the recruit remains employed. The LONGEVITY BONUS is based on the following scale: at your 4-year anniversary you will receive an extra $.01/mile added to your base; 8-year anniversary additional $.02/mile; 12-year anniversary additional $.03/mile; 16 year anniversary additional $.04/mile; 20 year anniversary additional $.05/mile; 24 year anniversary additional $.06/mile added to your base. The POINTS DAY bonus is figured by the revenue you generate each month. If you generate more than $10,000/month you receive 1 point for each $10 over $10K. Accumulate 1,500 points and you receive one day off paid at $75.00. You will have 5 years to use these days, after that they expire, use or lose. There is also Stop Off, Detention, and Freight handling, Layover, and Breakdown pay in effect.
Drivers are eligible for medical insurance after 45 days and 401K after six months. Drivers receive a company paid life insurance policy for $10,000 after 45 days. In addition, eligible drivers accumulate paid vacation and personal days and have seven paid holidays per year.

OTR Truck Drivers
To help you make an educated decision about your employment opportunities, we have put together a summary of what Martini, Inc. offers its OTR drivers. OTR drivers run a regional area, roughly from NJ to OH, and from upstate NY to the Carolinas. One of our biggest customers is Miller Beer, in Eden, NC. We haul some other general freight to keep our drivers moving. Drivers are normally scheduled out Sunday evening and return Friday evening that allows them to be home every weekend. You may even have the chance to stop at your home during the week depending on where you’re running. We have an in house logistics division that helps us maintain driver friendly freight.
Drivers’ pay is based on the amount of experience that can be verified. For example, a driver with 5 to 8 years of experience will earn $.34/mile; a driver with 15+ years will earn $.37/mile. Mileages are figured using PC MILER Practical program.
Additionally, there is a weekly MILEAGE INCENTIVE bonus paid based on the miles you run. You will earn an extra $.01/mile for miles run between 2,700 & 2,999; and earn an extra $.02/mile on all miles over 3,000.

Owner-Operator Program

Owner-Operators are paid a base mileage rate of $.82/mile for ALL DISPATCHED MILES. The company uses PC Miller Practical miles in determining mileage. There is an added mileage incentive bonus based on the miles you run per week: if you run between 2700 & 2999 miles, you will receive an additional $.01 for all dispatched miles, if you run 3000 miles, you will receive an additional $.01 for all dispatched miles, loaded or empty. Currently, there is also a fuel surcharge in place based on the national average, and fuel discounts are available when fueling in our system. There is also a safety-bonus, paid quarterly, that is based on the miles you run for a quarter. If you are with the company for the entire quarter, and have no chargeable accidents, or incidents, you will be paid $.01/mile for all dispatched miles run during the quarter, we also offer a recruiting bonus, any driver you refer who comes to work at Martini Inc. you will receive 1 cent for all the miles they run for a year, plus $750.00 paid @ $125/month for each month the recruit remains employed.
The longevity bonus is based on the following scale: at your 4-year anniversary you will receive an extra $.01/mile added to your base; 8-year anniversary additional $.02/mile; 12-year anniversary additional $.03/mile; 16 year anniversary additional $.04/mile; 20 year anniversary additional $.05/mile; 24 year anniversary additional $.06/mile added to your base.
We offer all Owner-Operators a Comdata card for fueling and cash advances, also on this card is a phone option to be used for business only, all other charges will be deducted from the weekly settlement, fuel, oil, tires etc.
There is a base plate program available to any Owner-Operator who needs it. The cost is based on the cost of the PA plate with an additional notary, and company fee added on, or you can purchase your own plate, and we will add an extra penny per mile to your rate. You are required to maintain a $1,000.00 escrow, which will be deducted from you during the first month you are working here. You will be required to have a Qualcomm unit installed in your truck(s). All alcohol permits will be ordered for you and the cost will also be deducted from you. However, after 6 months that money is given back to all Owner-Operators.
