Southern Missouri Truck Driving School offers training to men and women seeking a career in the transporation industry. Students learn truck driving skills through classroom instruction and hands-on experience at the school located on the Malden Industrial Park in Malden, Missouri.
SMTDS is the first school in the state to offer a PTDI-certified course. Our students will learn every aspect of tractor trailer driving in a curriculum that includes operating practices, maintenance, coupling and uncoupling and actual over-the-road training. A low student-to-teacher ratio allows our experienced instructors to provide individualized attention and training. Students must meet specific qualifications for admission and tuition is affordable.
Since 1997, the SMTDS staff has helped men and women learn a new and rewarding career in the ever-expanding trucking industry. If you are interested in attending SMTDS or if you have any questions, contact the school on-line or call today, toll free, 1-888-276-3860.
Why should you attend a PTDI Certified Course?
A new PTDI certified driver will be chosen first because transport companies will know you came from a quality training institution. You can apply for your first driving job with more confidence. You will have the credentials of a graduate of a PTDI certified course and have the knowledge, basic skills, habits and procedures that will ensure your safety on the road.

In addition to the language and the law of truck driving, students learn operating practices, maintenance, coupling and uncoupling, backing up, shifting, driving in traffic (both daytime and at night) - all the skills you need to be a professional tractor trailer driver.
What roads will we travel on?
In the second week of school, students learn basic driving skills on the SMTDS facilities without the worry of traffic. It is the third week of school that students will drive on area highways and interstates, and in small towns and larger cities.
