American Truck Driving School offers Professional Truck Driver Training courses to meet the skill level requirements of any road transportation industry carrier. At ATDS, we train qualified men and women for four (4) weeks with a certrified course of 206 hours of hands-on and classroom training. Equipment to be used will be Freightliner and International with Road Ranger 9 and 10 speed transmissions, and weighted 48 foot van trailers for better shifting ratios. ATDS training is VA approved! The ATDS campus has a several acre, paved training area with driving on a controlled course and actual road condition driving.

ATDS training is unique. Our approach to all student candidates is: "What are you looking for - a job or a career?" We explain that anyone can have a job, but what ATDS offers is a career. To prepare for this career, a student candidate must understand the Road Transportation Industry.

We stress that this is not just driving, but everyone starts out by driving OTR (over the road). This allows for a greater ongoing education as to learning all aspects of the industry. This is how strong roots take hold. We stress that our students must conduct themselves honorabley with the highest of integrity and ethics each day. These three elements build trust and trust builds teamwork, which is what makes our industry work.
